What drying actually does

Most treats are baked hot and then stabilised with chemistry. We take the water out instead, which is the only preservative any of this needs.

Whole salmon fillet, chicken hearts, real pumpkin. If an ingredient needs a second word to explain it, it doesn't get in.

Pull the water, not the flavour

Freeze-drying takes moisture out at low temperature, so the structure, smell and colour stay where they were. Dehydrating does it low and slow. Neither one fries anything.

Skip the shelf-life chemistry

No water means no spoilage, which means no BHA, no propylene glycol, no glycerin and no colour. That's the trade: a shorter shelf life than a supermarket bag, and a much shorter label.

Will my dog eat it if they've refused everything else?

That's the usual reason people find us. Freeze-dried single-ingredient protein has the strongest smell a treat can have because nothing has been cooked out of it — no coating, no filler diluting it. If it's still a no, the 30-day Tail-Wag Promise covers the bag, opened.

Is it safe for puppies, seniors and small breeds?

Yes. Treats are food, not medication. For puppies and small dogs, snap biscuits in half or use the Training Treats ($10) which are already bite-sized. Seniors do fine with everything except the hardest chews — cod skins and jerky are the gentler options there.

How many can I give in a day?

Treats should stay under roughly 10% of daily calories. There's a size-by-size guide further down this page. Serve as a reward rather than a meal, and always keep fresh water out.

How long does the bag keep once it's open?

Every bag reseals. Kept closed somewhere cool and dry, freeze-dried treats hold for months and biscuits for about six weeks. Because there are no humectants, biscuits firm up over time rather than going soft — that's normal.

Any preservatives, colours or "natural flavour"?

None of the above. The whole ingredient list is printed in the buy box above, and on the back of the bag — those are all of them. Removing the water is what makes it shelf-stable, so nothing else has to be added.

Can cats have this too?
